3 Compassionate Companies That Do Good.

Thanks to the internet, buying and selling products is easier than ever. A few companies are using their products to do good.

Feed

Feed was started in 2007 by Lauren Rush Lauren.  Lauren founded FEED with the simple idea of creating products that would engage people in the fight against hunger in a tangible way.

After traveling to Cambodia, Chad, and Guatemala; Lauren witnessed the effects of hunger first hand.

She also saw a program that was making a dent in kids nutrition: school meals.

When children are given free, nutritious school lunches, it can break the poverty cycle and improve their lives.

FEED is a social business.  Each of their products donates a number of school meals to children in need.  Since 2007, FEED has given over 100 million meals.

Ten Tree

Ten tree has planted over 16 million trees since it was founded.  Ten Tree is a clothing business that believes in being stewards of the environment.

For every piece of clothing bought, ten trees are planted.  Ten Tree states, “ We use "pioneer" species to ensure survival and often plant more than ten trees per item to guarantee ten trees SURVIVE for every item sold.”.

Ten Tree focuses on planting trees in areas that have been affected by deforestation.  Some of their projects are in Madagascar, where Mangrove forests have been destroyed, leaving the locals with infertile farmlands and completely wiping out thriving ecosystems.
